My Values and Approach

FIRST: Free 10 Minute Phone Consultation: This is our first opportunity to ask each other questions to find out if we are a good fit. We can discuss some of the reasons why you're interested in starting therapy, your goals and schedule availability. If everything feels ok, we can talk about when to schedule our first appointment, how to access the intake documents and the billing portal.

SECOND: The first 1-3 sessions: The first session will be a lot of information gathering and you sharing the context of your life story as it relates to why you are coming to therapy. I may ask you questions and I will likely do a lot of listening. Assessment, evaluation, treatment and discharge planning will be discussed throughout our work. Finally, we talk about therapeutic goals, discuss your treatment options and create your personalized therapy plan.

GOING FORWARD: Follow Up Appointments: The therapeutic process moves at your pace with safety, feedback, assignments and planning the agenda taking the forefront. Eventually, you will choose to end therapy and continue to build a life worth living.
